He also labelled team captain Keothavong with the same foul-mouthed slur.

The incident arose during the second set and began after someone in the crowd shouted during a point.

Keothavong went to the umpire to explain the breach of etiquette when Nastase interrupted.

After fans were warned about their conduct, Nastase said: “It’s not the opera, what’s your f***ing problem?”

It was at that point that he fired off the foul abuse at the two women.

Nastase had already been warned about his conduct in the match and was eventually removed from the stadium.
