She blasted Conor McGregor for making light of the boxer’s domestic violence conviction ahead of their historic clash.
FLOYD Mayweather’s battered ex has urged Conor McGregor to stop joking about his domestic violence conviction ahead of their historic showdown on August 26.
The boxer was jailed for two months for the 2010 attack against ex-girlfriend Josie Harris. Here’s everything you need to know…
Who is Josie Harris?
The 37-year-old is an actress who has had roles in film Exit 38 and TV series Starter Wives Confidential.
She now works as a successful entrepreneur and has launched her own line of baby products called Nappiesaks.
Harris is also working on a book – detailing her experience as a domestic abuse victim.
She shot to fame when she started dating the undefeated boxer, who she has three children with.
Why was Floyd Mayweather jailed?
Mayweather was jailed for two months after admitting misdemeanour battery following a domestic violence attack against Harris.
The boxer attacked his girlfriend in front of their three kids in 2010 in Las Vegas.
He had accused her of cheating on him with Golden State Warrior C.J. Watson.
In an interview, Harris said that being with Mayweather left her a “battered woman.”
Mayweather has been accused of domestic abuse several times by different women.
What did Conor McGregor do to Josie Harris?
The mum has accused McGregor of “sensationalising” his rival’s past acts of domestic violence.
The Irish fighter was pictured last week wearing an NBA jersey of C.J. Watson – the man Mayweather accused Harris of texting in 2010 which led to the attack.
McGregor, the reigning UFC lightweight, has repeatedly referenced Mayweather’s 2015 conviction for domestic violence against his former spouse Josie Harris in the build-up to their August 26 boxing match.
They haven’t been well received by Harris, who released a statement asking the boxer to stop making light of her horrific ordeal.
Her attorney Dan Friedlander said: “[The stunt] demonstrates not only an insensitivity toward the emotional well-being and privacy of the victim of Mayweather’s dom. violence, but also a general disregard for the physical and emotional trauma and long-lasting psychological impacts suffered by victims of dom. abuse.
“On behalf of Josie Harris, her and Mayweather’s three children, and all victims of domestic violence, we ask that Conor McGregor refrain from capitalising off of the trauma suffered by her and other victims of domestic abuse.”
