Parker went from rugby league glory to actor in BBC show Taboo
ROB PARKER is a veteran of rugby league.
The 35-year-old plied his trade for Bradford Bulls, Warrington Wolves, Salford City Reds and Leigh Centurions.
Who is Rob Parker?
Parker, born on 5 September 1981, played as either prop or second-row.
He signed with Bradford Bulls in 2000, and helped the side win the Challenge Cup Final in 2003.
When did he start acting?
Parker played the role of Cole in BBC show Taboo after striking up a frendship with Hollywood A-lsister Tom Hardy.
The Pair met at a corporate shooting event in 2014.
Parker told Rugby League World of the meeting: “We were in a valley in the middle of nowhere, with no phone signal or anything.
“There was just me and him around and we were sharing stories, telling jokes, just being normal blokes.
“I was telling him a few rude things that had happened in rugby changing rooms and he just asked me if I’d ever done any acting before.
“So I told him, in not such a polite way, to go away.
“But he just turned round and told me that he could get me in a new series that was coming up and that he thought I’d be really good.”
