Jessica Chastain needed to do a double take after she scored among the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards’ most significant honors.
When The Eyes of Tammy Faye starlet’ name was revealed for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, Jessica, not surprisingly, blacked out. “What did it look like, my face?” she asked E! News’ Francesca Amiker backstage after gathering her prize. And when Francesca described her stunned response was certainly meme-able, the super star included, “Oh shoot, that’s so embarrassing!”
And while Jessica confessed she “held it together on stage,” later, all bets were off. “I kinda cried a lot after I got off stage,” she stated throughout the unique chat. “It’s very emotional this time.”
Now, the Actor prize will sign up with the list of numerous distinctions she’s gathered, including her award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for The Help, which she called “one of the greatest moments.”
