RAHEEN HOUSE is set to head straight to next month’s William Hill St Leger at Doncaster.

Although trainer Brian Meehan will leave him in the Betway Great Voltigeur Stakes at York, he is likely to skip the race.

Raheen House comes home the strongest to land the Bahrain Trophy

He was last seen winning the Bahrain Trophy Stakes at Newmarket.

Meehan said: “I’m pretty sure he will go straight to the St Leger. He will stay in the Voltigeur until as late as possible, but I would only take him there if I feel I need to.

“He is in tremendous form at home and I am keen on the idea of going straight to the St Leger.

“It was ideal to see the form of his last run boosted by Desert Skyline (third in Goodwood Cup) and I am quite happy with him.

“If he doesn’t run in the Voltigeur then whatever wins that and the winner of the Goodwood Cup (Stradivarius) will get the attention, but I know what I’m dealing with and I know there is improvement in him.”
