Woman ‘kept as servant for 8 years discovered weighing simply 6 stone’

    An Indian female who was apparently kept as a servant by an Australian couple was discovered in a swimming pool of her own urine, weighing simply 6 stone, a court was informed.

    The implicated couple did not pay the female for taking care of their 3 kids, preparing the household’s meals and folding their clothing, Victoria Supreme Court heard. 

    The set, who can just be described by the initials KK and KK, satisfied the supposed victim in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

    The female then took a trip to Australia two times prior to returning a 3rd time to work for the household in July 2007, ABC reported. 

    Prosecutor Richard Maidment stated: ‘The origins of the entire plan were that [the victim] would be paid.

    ‘She worked very hard. During the whole of the eight years … she’ll state to you that all she got by the method of payment in Australia was the odd $5 or $10 note occasionally that may have been offered to her on her birthday.’ 

    During the duration of supposed slavery, up till 2015, her contact with her household in India ended up being a growing number of erratic.

    Requests to KK and KK to return the female to her household were apparently consulted with hostility, with the other half apparently composing in one e-mail: ‘Get f***ed’.

    The female collapsed on the restroom flooring in July, 2015, where paramedics discovered her shivering in a swimming pool of her own urine, with a 28.5C temperature level and weighing just 40 kgs, the court was informed.

    Mr Maidment stated: ‘She was said to be in an emaciated condition.’

    When she remained in the medical facility she informed cops she was not permitted to talk to them without the other half, who was among her supposed captors, present. 

    ‘She feared that [the accused] would not return her to India and would not pay her the cash she was owed for the work she had actually done,’ Mr Maidment stated.

    Mr Maidment informed the court the couple had ‘interfered’ with the victim’s liberties and ‘usurped’ her right to care. 

    The case continues.
