After marking his ball on the green, Wicks proceeded to pull out his scorecard but dropped his ball onto his foot before it rolled into the lake.

The rules of the NCAA state a player has to retrieve their personal ball or they will face a two-stroke penalty.

With just a five minute limit to decide on his options, Wicks decided to strip down to his pants and get into the water to avoid the penalty.

And despite his valiant efforts, it was all in vain, as he failed to find it and was forced to accept the punishment.

Wicks did go on to show his composure and help Jacksonville reach the college finals as he struck five straight pars and set-up a sudden-death play-off with Northwestern.
