IT’S a busy time for Flat fans. Next up is Chester, before Ascot, Lingfield, Newbury and York.
The ITV cameras head to the Roodee on Wednesday and so does this column, as rather un-originally I can’t see past an Aidan O’Brien runner.
SECRET THOUGHTS (Chester, 2.25) was a real eye-catcher on her comeback at Leopardstown last month.
After a troubled start, she was forced wide throughout and positioned horribly entering the tight straight.
She stuck on well for a solid fifth and there’s no doubt she’s been crying out for this step up in trip. Anything she’d achieved prior to going further was a bonus, and good performances behind the likes of Skitter Scatter and Lady Kaya is good form.

There is enough stamina on the dam’s side to suggest this trip is within reach, and if it is realistic, then a speedy track such as Chester is always going to help.
As expected she goes up against some unexposed fillies, and her main rival looks to be Ralph Beckett’s Manuela De Vega.
However, she’s had no run this season and Beckett has yet to get his team firing on all cylinders.
O’Brien mops up winners in this – three winners in the last four years – and his team come here fresh off the back of winning all that mattered at Newmarket.
Elsewhere on Wednesday…
WILD EDRIC (Chester, 4.35) looks a bet in a tricky little handicap. Any rain would be appreciated and this course and distance winner is nicely drawn.
Tom Dascombe targets this meeting and he made a decent return to action at Pontefract last month.
