Alec Baldwin “discharged” a prop weapon on his newest motion picture set, eliminating one team member and hurting the director, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release acquired by E!News
Police stated the director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and the movie’s director, Joel Souza, were shot when Baldwin “discharged” a prop gun on the set of Rust on Thursday,Oct 21.
Hutchins, 42, was taken by helicopter to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was noticable dead due to her injuries.
An ambulance took Souza, 48, to ChristusSt Vincent Regional Medical Center, where he is “undergoing treatment for his injuries,” per cops.
Baldwin’s representative informed E! News there was “an accident” including “the misfire of a prop gun with blanks” while shooting Rust in NewMexico “Production has been halted for the time being,” included the representative, who likewise represents Souza “The safety of our cast and crew remains our top priority.”
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office stated it dispatched officers to the Bonanza Creek Ranch at about 1: 50 p.m., after a 911 caller reported a shooting on set.
