Apple should pay Canadian patent licensing business WiLan $1451 million in damages for patent violation, a California jury ruledWednesday
The jury stated that some iPhone designs infringed 2 WiLan cordless interactions innovation patents.
One of those is for a “method and apparatus for bandwidth request protocols in a wireless communication system” and the other is for “adaptive call admission control for use in a wireless communication system,” 9to5Mac reports.
Apple turned down violation claims in pretrial filings, and supposedly prepares to appeal the decision.
This is 2nd time the business have actually fulfilled in court. Apple was discovered innocent of infringing on other WiLan cordless networking innovation patents in October2013
Neither Apple nor WiLan right away reacted to ask for remark.
