In Oct. 2002, Jam Master Jay, née Jason Mizell, was fatally shot in a Queens music studio, a criminal offense that would go unsolved for 18 years.

The Run-DMC rap artist’s case reached its conclusion when federal authorities apprehended Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan Jr. in connection with the 37-year-old’s murder.

On Monday, Aug. 17, the 2 guys were each prosecuted on 10 charges, consisting of murder while taken part in narcotics trafficking and firearm-related murder, according to Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Seth DuCharme. Additionally, Jordan is dealing with one count of conspiracy to disperse drug and 7 counts of drug circulation.

Jordan was arraigned and pleaded innocent. He is being apprehended while pending trial.

If founded guilty, they each deal with a minimum of 20 years jail time and an optimal regard to life jail time, or the capital punishment.

The district attorneys declared Washington and Jordan deliberately “killed [Mizell] in cold blood,” eliminating the rap artist with a single gunshot injury to the head.
