    ‘Then they gradually got better, my vision was fading, and after that I stated, “My God, the boat.” I raised my arms and requested for aid.’

    It was believed he was saved around 280 miles far from where his boat sank.

    Romualdo was offered water and porridge by his rescuers after he had not consumed for days on end.

    He informed regional media: ‘This fridge, for me, was God. A miracle.’
