The homage rather included a variety of previous dancers– consisting of Maks Chmerkovskiy, Kym Johnson-Herjavec, Tony Dovolani, Anna Trebunskaya, Edyta Sliwinska, Karina Smirnoff, Louis van Amstel and Mark Ballas— who went back to the ballroom with a wholehearted efficiency of the waltz, set to among Len’s preferred tunes, Henry Mancini‘s “Moon River.”

The long time judge died in April from cancer, 6 months after retiring from the program.

Before the moving efficiency, the dancers and others included with DWTS shared a couple of words about what Len suggested to them.

“One of the things I’m most thankful for is being able to judge alongside Len,” Derek Hough, who formerly acted as a dance pro before signing up with the evaluating panel, stated through tears. “I was able to spend a little more extra time with him and for that, I’m really thankful.”
