Tributes have actually been paid to a British male who passed away after striking his head while jumping from the Garth Prowd Bridge in Australia.
Joshua Santos Christian, in his 30 s, passed away on Sunday in Noosa Sound, Queensland, while taking turns delving into the water from the bridge with pals.
After stopping working to emerge from the water, his pals introduced a search and called emergency situation services.
His body was recuperated around 5 hours later on with the assistance of a regional boat operator.
‘He passed happy and loving life and always living up to his motto “here for a good time not a long time”.’
Police said: ‘A search and rescue operation was launched with police divers locating the body of the man around 6am.’
‘I can’t put into words how special a person you were and how you lit up every room,’ friend Jimmy Allen wrote on social media.
‘You always wanted the best for everyone and made everyone feel so, so special.
‘I’ll always be thinking of you my brother and will always have a special place in my heart.
‘I’ll see you on the other side.’
Now-retired Senior Sergeant Peter Feldman previously told Noosa News of the danger of jumping from the bridge ‘They are not only risking their own lives, but that of people in passing boats. It is an offence to jump off certain structures and they are breaking the law.
‘It’s not the height of the bridge that makes it dangerous – it’s the way that they can fall. It only takes a fall of a couple of metres to seriously injure somebody.’
The man’s next of kin are being informed of his death.
Noosa Council previously put a warning of dangers of jumping from the bridge on their website.
It read: ‘Please be advised that bridge jumping from the Garth Prowd Bridge is STRICTLY PROHIBITED due to construction conditions and equipment placement below the bridge, which render it unsafe for such activities.’
