Nigella Lawson‘s pronunciation of the word “microwave” is triggering a stir on social networks after a user published a clip on Tuesday, Dec. 8 that reveals her discussing the device on her BBC Two cooking program Nigella’s Cook, Eat, Repeat

“Eternally grateful to Nigella Lawson for letting us know we’ve all been mispronouncing microwave for the last 50 (or so) years,” the Twitter user wrote about the video footage.

In the video, the 60-year-old British celeb chef informs the cam, “But I still need a bit of milk, full-fat, that I’ve warmed in the microwave.”

Yes, that’s really the word she’s utilizing, despite the fact that she includes an additional syllable to pronounce it as mee-cro-wah-vay. The world is a complicated location in some cases.

Other Twitter users fasted to mention on the odd pronunciation. One person commented that the cooking area professional was “legit pulling our leg here,” and this appeared to be the basic agreement.
