    At least 45 individuals have actually been eliminated and lots more hurt in an inferno in Bangladesh.

    Flames swallowed up a residential or commercial property in the Bailey Road location, in the capital Dhaka, at about 10 pm regional time.

    Health minister Samanta Lal Sen confirmed that children are among the casualties in the incident.

    He said at least 33 people, including women and children, were declared dead at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

    A least 10 others died after being taken to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

    The death toll is likely to go up as firefighters still battle with the fire at the scene.

    People who had gathered outside saw firefighters pulling out several bodies from the building.

    Braving the flames, firefighters rescued at least 75 people, including 42 who were unconscious.

    It is understood that the fire began in a popular restaurant on the first floor of the mall, and that many people were trapped by the fire.

    The cause could not immediately be determined.
