China on Sunday explained an aborted disobedience by a Russian mercenary force as an “internal affair” and revealed assistance for the Kremlin’s efforts to keep nationwide stability.

“This is Russia’s internal affair,” stated a Chinese foreign ministry’s representative in a declaration. “As Russia’s friendly neighbor and comprehensive strategic partner of coordination for the new era, China supports Russia in maintaining national stability and achieving development and prosperity.”

Separately, China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang and Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu satisfied Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko on Sunday.

Both sides “highly praised the current state of Russia-China relations,” according to a declaration from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

They likewise discussed “prospects for further strengthening foreign policy coordination and cooperation between Moscow and Beijing at multilateral platforms,” the Russian foreign ministry stated, including the 2 nations will “work together to consistently strengthen” relations.

On Friday, Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of Russia’s paramilitary company Wagner Group, implicated Russia’s defense ministry of intentionally battle Wagner fighters and declared that Moscow’s reason for attacking Ukraine was based upon lies.

His soldiers supposedly took control of the tactical Russian city of Rostov- on-Don prior to advancing to within 200 kilometers from Moscow onSaturday But less than 24 hours later on, Prigozhin suddenly revealed his fighters would reverse and stop their advance towards the capital.

Shortly after, Belarus launched a declaration that Prigozhin accepted Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s recommendation for the Wagner group to stop its operation in Russia and take more actions to relieve stress.

Russian state media reported that the Wagner leader will now transfer to surrounding Belarus and criminal charges versus him would be dropped.

China’s declaration promising to assistance Russia in keeping nationwide stability recommends it is “not providing direct military support” to Russia, according to Ian Bremmer, president and creator of international political danger research study and speaking with company Eurasia Group

“[China is] believing that they are not supplying any military assistance for Russia, even when Putin’s back was up versus the wall, when he may have decreased, when they didn’t understand what was going to take place,” stated Bremmer, explaining that there was “almost no coverage in the Chinese state media.”

Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin is a 'dead man walking,' says Eurasia Group's Ian Bremmer

“They basically said, this is a Russian internal matter, which by the way, is what the Americans were saying as well, what NATO was saying as well,” Bremmer informed CNBC’s “Squawk Box Asia” on Monday.

“China’s going to buy a lot of Russian commodities. They’re going to provide to the Russians a lot of low level chips and the rest — but they’re not providing direct military support,” stated Bremmer.
