Veronica Tejera is speaking up after being implicated of threatening her kids’s well-being.
Veronica– the other half of late ABC News manufacturer Dax Tejera— was charged with 2 counts of threatening the well-being of a kid amidst the death of her other half, NYPD Lieutenant John Grimpel verified to E! NewsJan 4.
Dax, who produced This Week With George Stephanopoulos, passed away onDec 23 at age 37 due to a cardiovascular disease, according to a memo from network president Kim Godwin at the time.
That very same night, Veronica left the couple’s 2-year-old and 5-month-old children in a hotel space, she stated in a declaration to Entertainment Tonight releasedJan 3.
An NYPD representative informed E! News that officers reacted to a 911 call at 11 p.m. reporting “unattended children” who were left alone, including, “The mother was placed in custody and charged.”
Now, Veronica is sharing her side of what occurred that night. “When Dax collapsed on December 23rd, I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital,” she stated in her declaration to ET. “I asked both a close friend and my parents to rush to my children’s hotel room to attend to them as I monitored them by camera. The hotel would not allow my friend in and instead called the NYPD.”
