Dog stabbed after tossing itself in front of owner to conserve her from spouse

A hero canine tossed himself in between his owner and her knife-wielding spouse.

The male, 62, apparently threatened his better half and their grandchildren, 16 and 17, with the blade after entering into a heated argument at their house in Coracao de Jesus, southern Brazil.

But the grandma’s cherished canine, Fofinho (Little Cutie), fearlessly leapt in front of them, taking the knife himself. 

The repellent male then stabbed the brave canine in the chest and the stomach. 

Fofinho’s owner, 58, hurried him to a veterinarian about 45 miles away in Montes Claros, where his injuries were cleaned up and sewn up. 

The canine’s stomach was so terribly hurt he struggled with bowel leak, putting him at threat of a deadly infection. 

Fofinho is still in health center on anti-inflammatories, prescription antibiotics and pain relievers. 

The veterinarian informed regional media that he might have passed away had he showed up a couple of hours later on. 

‘He was a true hero,’ a policeman stated. 

The spouse was jailed on April 20 after an 18-hour manhunt. It is not yet clear whether he will be charged.
