“Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one,” the starlet stated in a declaration that was shared on Twitter.
In January, The Crown developer Peter Morgan revealed that his series would end after 5 seasons. However, he had a change of mind and understood that the story about the British monarchy required more screen time.
“As we started to discuss the storylines for series five, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” Morgan said in a statement in July.
