Meta‘s social networks platforms Instagram, Facebook and Threads are back online after the platforms were down for about 2 hours Tuesday early morning.
Facebook and Threads appeared to be especially impacted. Neither app was filling since 10 a.m. ET, when reports of the interruption began to appear on DownDetector.com. Instagram feeds weren’t revitalizing for some users, while others might still access the app. Many Facebook users were not able to visit.
“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Meta representative Andy Stone composed in a post on the social networks website X on Tuesday.
The interruptions took place on the very same day as the Super Tuesday governmental primaries in the U.S., when 16 states and one area head to the surveys. The disturbances provided an issue for the governmental projects, which rely greatly on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to reach citizens.
