A Facebook staff member passed away on Thursday after leaping off the 4th flooring of a structure at the social media network’s Menlo Park, California, head office in an evident suicide, the business stated.

On Friday, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office determined the guy as Qin Chen, a 38-year-old San Mateo homeowner. A cause of death has actually not been identified yet.

“We’re cooperating with police in their investigation and providing support to employees,” a Facebook representative stated in a declaration. “While the family is being notified, we have no information to share.”

Menlo Park authorities got a call at 11: 30 a.m. PT about a male who had actually leapt off a structure on the 100 block of Jefferson Drive.

Police and the Menlo Park Fire Protection District discovered the guy unresponsive and were not able to restore him. He was noticable dead at the scene.

Police stated an initial examination discovered there was no nasty play.
