Ford and a United Auto Workers regional union, UAW Local 62, reached a tentative offer on Wednesday to prevent a strike at the car manufacturer’s most lucrative plant.

The UAW had actually threatened that almost 9,000 employees at Ford’s Kentucky truck plant would strike on Friday if regional union needs were not solved.

The UAW stated Tuesday that the offer addresses regional concerns connected to competent trades, ergonomics and health and wellness.

Ford stated in a declaration that it was “pleased to have reached a tentative agreement.”

The Louisville plant is Ford’s biggest in regards to work and earnings. Workers at the plant fruit and vegetables Ford Super Duty pickups along with Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigator SUVs.

Dozens of regional agreements throughout the Big Three car manufacturers â $” Ford, General Motors and Stellantis â $” stay in settlements, according to the UAW. Local agreements vary from the nationwide arrangements that the UAW validated in late 2023 and handle plant-specific concerns.
