A Republican senator and the president of the Teamsters union almost got in a fistfight Tuesday in the middle of a Senate hearing, up until VermontSen Bernie Sanders actioned in and broke it up.

The exchange started whenSen Markwayne Mullin, Okla., check out a tweet that Teamsters President Sean O’Brien had actually published inJune

“You want to run your mouth? We can be two consenting adults, we can finish it here,” Mullin stated to O’Brien, who was affirming at a hearing on labor unions in America.

“OK, that’s fine, perfect,” O’Brien responded. “I’d love to do it right now.”

“Then stand your butt up then,” Mullin shot back.

“You stand your butt up,” O’Brien stated.

Mullin, worn a white t-shirt and no coat, then stood and started to approach O’Brien

Mullin and O’Brien continued to trash talk each other in the hearing space.

“This is a hearing. And God knows the American people have enough contempt for Congress, let’s not make it worse,” Sanders stated.

The fight in between the senator and the union manager started months previously.

Mullin informed O’Brien “to shut your mouth” in a heated exchange throughout a previous hearing in March.

In a social networks post later on, in June, O’Brien rough on Mullin as a “clown and a fraud.”

“Quit the tough guy act in these senate hearings. You know where to find me. Anyplace, Anytime cowboy,” O’Brien composed on X.

Days later on, Mullin returned fire, stating he accepted the invite and proposing a combined martial arts defend charity.

It was this exchange that triggered Mullin to challenge O’Brien to a battle in Tuesday’s hearing.
