The House choose committee examining the fatal Capitol intrusion informed lots of business, consisting of telecoms suppliers, to maintain the phone records of some staunchly pro-Trump Republican legislators.

The committee, led by Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss, corresponded to 35 private-sector companies “instructing them to preserve records which may be relevant to the Select Committee’s investigation,” a representative informed CNBC.

“The Select Committee is at this point gathering facts, not alleging wrongdoing by any individual,” the representative stated.

Earlier Wednesday, NBC News reported that the list of names to be sent to the telecoms companies– consisting of Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Florida’s Matt Gaetz and Mo Brooks of Alabama– is still progressing.

That list was initially reported earlier Monday by CNN, pointing out sources who stated the members were targeted due to their links to previous President Donald Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally outside the White House onJan 6.

The other Republicans called in the list areReps Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Ohio’s Jim Jordan, Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar of Arizona, North Carolina’s Madison Cawthorn, Louie Gohmert of Texas, Jody Hice of Georgia and Pennsylvania’s Scott Perry.

A spokesperson for theJan 6 choose committee decreased to verify the reporting.
