Jason Gray-Stanford states he feels “lucky” to be alive after a fight with cardiac arrest.
In an individual essay released by Today onFeb 25, the Monk alum detailed the painful experience and how he “likely could have only lived a few more weeks” if he had actually not gotten a heart transplant in November2020 According to the 51- year-old, the whole experience very first started in 2018, when he saw that his heart was “beating oddly” while recording in Vancouver, Canada, and went to the emergency clinic for treatment.
Shortly after, Jason was detected with an embolism and phase 1 cardiac arrest, a condition that takes place when the heart is not pumping blood along with it should. “I grappled with the diagnosis and also denied it,” he remembered, keeping in mind that he instantly began medication. “It felt impossible that I was so sick.”
Although Jason stated his health “remained stable” for a while due to the medication, things deviated in December 2019 when he blacked out in the middle of a spin class.
