A man has died and a woman is injured after the roof of a house fell into a bedroom.
The roof of the Bradford property collapsed just after 5am on Sunday, causing debris to fall into a bedroom.
Emergency services found a man, 47, inside the property with fatal injuries. A 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Three children that were in the house when the roof collapsed were unharmed.
Detective Inspector Claudine Binns said: ‘This has clearly been a tragic incident in which a man has lost his life and a woman has received some serious injuries.
‘Work is ongoing to make the building safe and we are in the early stages of a full investigation with the local authority to determine exactly how this fatal incident took place’.
‘The victim’s family will be rehoused and authorities are working to support them in any way we can,’ added DI Binns.
Inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the incident.
