    More than 70 ambulance crews are currently on site to attend to the vast number of injured.

    Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova urged the international community to condemn the shooting calling it ‘a monstrous crime.’

    Senior Russian security official and former president Dmitry Medvedev said the gunmen and those who masterminded it should be hunted down and killed.

    Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, wrote on Telegram: ‘All of them must be found and ruthlessly destroyed as terrorists.

    ‘Death for death.’

    Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak reacted to accusations that his government is behind the attack.

    He said: ‘Let’s be straight about this, Ukraine had absolutely nothing to do with these events.

    ‘We have a full-scale, all-out war with the Russian regular army and with the Russian Federation as a country. 

    ‘Regardless of everything, everything will be decided on the battlefield.’

    The White House also stressed that it currently has no evidence of Ukraine’s involvement in the Moscow shooting.

    The attack took place as crowds gathered for a concert of Picnic, a famed Russian rock band, at the hall that can accommodate more than 6,000 people. 

    Russia’s top investigative agency, the Investigative Committee, is investigating the events as a terrorist attack, although declined to say who they thought was responsible.

    It remains unclear who the perpetrators are and no one is yet take responsibility.

    The Russian culture ministry has said all entertainment and mass events have been cancelled across the country.

    All mass events in Moscow were called off earlier this evening following the shooting at Crocus City Hall, to the west of the capital in Krasnogorsk.
