A mass evacuation is supposedly underway after a substantial fire ripped through a Laguna town complex in Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Images reveal flames swallowing up the shopping and dining establishment complex after the blaze broke out around 1.45pm on Saturday.
The popular traveler website is close to a gas station, triggering worries that a surge might happen if the flames take a trip any even more, according to The Olive Press.
A level one emergency situation was stated at 3.20pm as 3 helicopters, a fire engine and 30 firemens fight the flames.
There are a variety of paramedics on the scene. It is not understood if anybody has actually been hurt.
An eyewitness from the scene informed International247news: ‘This is huge and could potentially be the biggest fire here for many years, firefighters are still continuing to arrive as well as many more aircraft carrying both water and firefighting foam.’
Footage from the scene reveals one female shouting in shock as she movies the inferno from a hotel.
Staff are likewise seen running and yelling as a thatched hut ignites near a pool.
Tourists can be heard stating ‘oh my god, it’s not Laguna Village. It can’t be’ in another video as they drive towards the location.
Authorities supposedly believe the fire broke out in forest surrounding the complex, which is in between San Pedro and Estepona, Malaga.
A representative for a local government-run emergency situation services planner validated: ‘Level One of the Emergency Forest Fire plan has been activated because of a fire in Estepona.’
