Before starring on MasterChef Junior, Ben assisted run Big Ben’s Bodacious BARBEQUE and Delicatessen in Gary, Ind. with his late moms and dads, who passed away 3 years back in a murder-suicide.
The teenager completed on season 6 of MasterChef Junior, which was hosted by Gordon Ramsay. At the time of the competitors, Ben was 11 years of ages. While he didn’t complete out the complete season, he put in the top 18 and rapidly melted audiences’ hearts.
Gordon required to Twitter to reveal his distress over Ben’s loss, writing, “We lost a Master of the @MasterChefJrFOX kitchen today.”
“Ben you were an incredibly talented home cook and even stronger young man,” his message continued. “Your young life had so many tough turns but you always persevered. Sending all the love to Ben Watkins’ family with this terrible loss.”
