Burger chain McDonald’s is briefly closing its U.S. workplaces today as it prepares to notify business staff members about its layoffs as part of a wider business restructuring, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

In an internal e-mail recently to U.S. staff members and some worldwide personnel, McDonald’s asked to work from house from Monday through Wednesday so it can provide staffing choices practically, the report stated. It is uncertain the number of staff members will be laid off.

“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and staffing levels across the organization,” the Chicago- based business stated in the message seen by the Journal.

McDonald’s likewise asked staff members to cancel all in-person conferences with suppliers and other outdoors celebrations at its head office, the report included.

McDonald’s did not instantly react to a Reuters ask for remark.

The fast-food chain stated in January that it would examine business staffing levels as part of an upgraded company technique, which might cause layoffs in some locations and growth in others.

McDonald’s is anticipated to start revealing essential choices by Monday.
