Over 60 individuals were decontaminated Saturday after they were exposed to an air-borne chemical leakage at a Texas water park, authorities stated.
They stated 26 individuals were dealt with at health centers, consisting of a 3-year-old who was “under severe condition,” after the occurrence at the kids’s swimming pool at Six Flags Harbor Splashdown in Spring, Texas.
The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office tweeted that it was examining the source of the leakage while keeping an eye on air quality at the water park exterior Houston.
“People affected are experiencing minor skin and/or inhalation irritation,” the workplace stated. It did not elaborate on what the decontamination treatment involved.
The water park was closed for the rest of the day as a preventative measure, stated Six Flags spokesperson Sandra Daniels in a declaration.
“A small number of guests in a section of the park reported feeling ill with respiratory irritation,” she stated. “The safety of our guests and team members is always our highest priority and the park was immediately cleared as we try to determine a cause.”
The park completely resumed July 3 after a pandemic-related closure.
