Hulls discussed that they understood just what Petito and Laundrie shared throughout their quick interaction– vest-cam video footage from the interaction has to do with an hour long– and they might just go off the details that existed, describing that the officers could not “let our emotions drive the decision.”
“It’s easy to say that when you can break down a video, minute by minute, and judge it, versus being in the moment where we saw minor injuries and two people that were apologetic,” Hulls stated of the criticism that she and the other reacting officers are dealing with.
