Director Paul King just recently exposed that the Dune star didn’t need to audition to land the starring function of Willy Wonka in upcoming musical movie Wonka, which traces the backstory of the chocolate magnate. In truth, King exposed Chalamet’s golden ticket originated from his singing and dancing skills.
“It was a straight offer because he’s great and he was the only person in my mind who could do it,” King informed Rolling Stone in an interview released July11 “But because he’s Timothée Chalamet and his life is so absurd, his high school musical performances are on YouTube and have hundreds of thousands of views.”
