United Airlines and Dubai’s Emirates are set to reveal a codeshare arrangement in the coming weeks, sources informed Reuters.

United on Tuesday sent out an invite to press reporters to a “special event” onSept 14 entitled “Come fly with us” with Chief Executive Scott Kirby and Emirates President Tim Clark in Washington.

The Air Current reported the anticipated statement previously. United did not use extra remark. An Emirates representative verified the airline companies will make “a joint announcement” onSept 14 in Washington, decreasing to elaborate.

After getting federal government approvals, a codeshare would enable both airline companies’ consumers access to extra locations that each do not presently serve. The arrangement is most likely to assist United much better contend for consumers flying to the Gulf area.

In June, American Airlines and Qatar Airways stated they were broadening a tactical alliance revealed in early 2020 with a brand-new codeshare arrangement, broadening the arrangement to 16 extra nations.
