Vietnam’s electrical car manufacturer VinFast stated on Friday it will postpone shipments to its very first consumers in the United States to the 2nd half of February after it completes upgrading the cars with the current software application.

The Vietnamese business, a system of corporation Vingroup, is getting ready to broaden in the United States, where it intends to take on existing car manufacturers.

It began to deliver its very first 999 electrical cars (EVs) in November in 2015, however has actually not provided them to consumers yet after the business at first targeted December shipments.

“The cars have been updated with the latest software. We are planning to hand over the first VF8 vehicle models to customers in the second half of February,” VinFast stated in a declaration.

“The second batch will be shipped to the U.S. in the second quarter of 2023,” the declaration stated, without defining the size of the lot.

VinFast stated it protected 55,000 orders internationally since December in 2015, of which 12,000 are from the U.S. market. It provided over 4,000 EVs to consumers locally in December, over half of which were the sports energy lorry VF8 design.

VinFast recently revealed brand-new prices promos for the U.S. market to safeguard the marketplace competitiveness of its designs, following Tesla’s comparable programs.
