Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Alexei Navalny, has actually had her account on Elon Musk’s platform X reinstated.
Her account – created only on Monday and days after the killing of the Russian opposition leader in a Siberian penal colony – appeared to be axed earlier today.
‘Account suspended,’ a notice said on her account, but it was not clear if she had violated any rules.
It comes just hours after Navalnaya had announced plans to name her husband’s killers and to continue his work against Russia’s regime.
The Anti-Corruption Foundation tweeted shortly after her suspension: ‘Hey Elon Musk! Please explain exactly which rules were violated by Yulia Navalnaya.’
There was still no official response by Musk or her spokesperson, whose account is still active. Navalnaya is also yet to address her brief suspension.
In an address on X, she said yesterday: ‘By killing Alexei, Vladimir Putin killed half of me, half of my heart and half of my soul.
‘But I still have the other half, and it tells me that I have no right to give up. I will continue the work of Alexei Navalny.’
Navalny was one of Putin’s most persistent critics and was seen as the person that the Russian president feared the most.
He became such a threat to the regime that Russian agents poisoned him with the lethal nerve agent Novichok planted in his underpants.
His mum Lyudmila Navalnaya, who has been trying to get his body since Saturday, appeared in a video outside the Arctic penal colony where her son died on Friday.
‘For the fifth day, I have been unable to see him. They wouldn’ t release his body to me. And they’re not even informing me where he is,’ a black-clad Ms Navalnaya stated in the video,
She stood in front of the barbed wire of Penal ColonyNo 3 in Kharp, about 1,200 miles northeast of Moscow.
‘I’ m connecting to you, VladimirPutin The resolution of this matter depends entirely on you. Let me lastly see my boy,’ she stated.
‘I demand that Alexei’ s body is launched instantly, so that I can bury him like a person,” she stated in the video, which was published to social networks by his group.’
Russian authorities have stated the reason for Navalny’s death is still unidentified and declined to launch his body for the next 2 weeks as the initial inquest continues, members of his group stated.
