The Weeknd, whose genuine name is Abel Tesfaye, teased on Twitter that he may “pull a YE” and lawfully drop his surname to just pass ABEL.
He wrote on April 3, “i feel like i should change my stage name to ABEL at this point lol.”
He continued in another tweet, writing, “possibly pull a YE and simply lawfully alter my name to ABEL. no surname. Like Madonna or Cher or Prince I do not understand it looks like a lot.”
